I saw the post too, but will take the compliment in the spirit in which I believe it was intended.

The sentence structure leaves me to wonder if the original poster is referring to the magazine as being put out by amateurs, or if they are referring to PCLinuxOS as being put out by amateurs.

Whatever the case, I'll assume that the original poster was trying to impart sincere praise to either or both.

Mostly, in the world of Sports, Amatures are "unpaid" while pros are "paid".  Since the magazine is free and the staff are volunteers, it does sort of fall into Amature status, in that context.  Start charging a subscription, and you become "POOF" Professionals.   Grin
