Where do you call home? What is it like? IE: weather, scenery:
We live in Port Angeles on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in Washington State just outside Olympic Nat. Park. There are the Olympic Mountains, ocean, and rainforest. The weather is temperate, with mild winters.
Where did you go to school and what is your education level?
Went to Roosevelt HS in Seattle and Peninsula College in Port Angeles
What kind of things you like doing? hobbies, travel, fishing, camping?
We have camped extensively here, and traveled to Belize, CA, and almost moved there. My hobbies are fishing, reading, fiddling with different Linux distros. I'm very interested in astrobiology, cosmology, astronomy, theoretical physics, and space exploration.
Why and when did you start using Linux?
I started using Linux in 1998 out of frustration with crashes, etc, and the proprietary nature of Windows, and lack of ability to configure things the way I wanted to. I haven't used Windows since Win98, other than to help my wife with her laptop, which has been updated to Windows 10. She's still resisting installing PCLinuxOS, even though she uses PCLinuxOS on my desktop whenever there's something really important she needs to work on, and needs to use a more stable platform.
