This month, I start an article series aimed at creating and using a HTPC (Home
Theater Personal Computer). This alone is challenging enough for most users. So,
not being someone who always chooses the easy way, I decided to challenge myself
and see if I could make my HTPC for a cost less than one month's bill to
Xfinity/Comcast. I reveal my results in this month's inaugural article in the
series.
We are also starting a new monthly column, called Tip Top Tips. We will take one
tip per month from the PCLinuxOS forum's Tips & Tricks section, and feature it
in the magazine. I've written a few of these up already, and in every one, we've
expanded upon the original post. So, if you have an idea for a Tip and/or Trick,
post it in the Tips & Tricks section of the PCLinuxOS forum. Your tip just might
be chosen for the magazine's monthly Tip Top Tips column. The column's inaugural
tip comes from -- who else -- Texstar.
Other posts in the Tips & Tricks section of the forum quickly transform
themselves into full blown articles, such as Meemaw's article this month on
disposable email accounts. Her article was inspired by a post in the Tips &
Tricks section of the PCLinuxOS forum, from forum member Phil.
First time down the slide at the park, and not too sure about it.
For sure, you're going to want to check back with us next month. Preparations
are already underway to celebrate the 100th "regular" issue of The PCLinuxOS
Magazine, which occurs with the May 2015 issue. This should make our 100th issue
a definite "can't miss" issue.
So, until next month, I bid you peace, happiness, serenity and prosperity.
